Houndstooth Baby Blanket
A classic style for a classic baby. A houndstooth baby blanket adds a touch of class to any baby's look. It's certainly not something you see every day. I'm no style maven, but can you imagine this houndstooth pattern paired with jeans and a classic white button down for a preppy style? Or with a leather jacket for an edgy look?
But this houndstooth baby blanket is more than style. It is warmth. It is softness. It is luxury. It is alpaca.
Alpaca Houndstooth Baby Blanket
Alpaca is a luxury fiber that was reserved for Incan royalty. It was even used a currency at one time. It is wonderfully soft. It so hard to describe with words. When people touch it for the first time, I often hear an "Oooohhhh."
The blankets measure 36" x 38" and have a finished, surged edge.
Each alpaca houndstooth baby blanket is made in the U.S. with American fiber. The fiber is grown at small, indepedent farms. It is bought by the Alpaca Fiber Project. The hardworking couple that owns the project then sorts all the fiber. Alpaca fiber is measured in microns. The smaller the micron, the softer the fiber. When alpaca fiber that is close in micron count is grouped together, you get a higher quality product.
The fiber is then sent to Pendleton Woolen Mills which has processing areas in Oregon and Washington. These are the same folks who have been weaving Pendleton brand blankets for decades. They know their stuff.
Each houndstooth baby blanket is all American...from fiber to finished product.
CarePendleton recommend dry cleaning the baby blanket, however, the Alpaca Blanket Project owners have been washing their in the machine. They use the gentlest cycle, cool water, and let the blanket air dry. After a few dozen washings, it still looks great and may even be a little bit softer.

Snuggle up with alpaca warmth!
